Modern Slavery

The Modern Slavery Act 2015 consolidates offences relating to trafficking and slavery. It also criminalises aiding, abetting or procuring forced labour or human trafficking, or being an accessory to such offences. Tom Owen and Son does not enter into business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

We oppose the exploitation of workers and we will not tolerate forced labour, or labour which involves physical, verbal or psychological harassment, or intimidation of any kind. We will not accept human trafficking or the exploitation of children and young people in our business and undertake all reasonable and practical steps to ensure that these standards are maintained.

Our link to Soroptimist International, also ensures that we are fully up to date with initiatives related to modern slavery, in particular in our local community.
