What have we been doing in our local community this month?
Tom Owen and Son Funeral Director are proud to be part of the North Wales community. As a funeral director based in Llandudno and the surrounding areas of Colwyn Bay and Conwy, we are dedicated to supporting our local community in a variety of ways, here is what we have been up to in January and February 2024.
Getting involved in the local communities of Llandudno, Colwyn Bay and Conwy or attending charity events is a key part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme at Tom Owen and Son. We believe being an integral part of our community is incredibly important to us as a business to allow us to give back.
Llandudno Football Club
Tom Owen and Son sponsor Llandudno Football Club, namely our name on their training shirts and a board around the game. We decided to head to the OPS Arena, to watch their football match recently.
Conwy Mind Seal Splash
On Sunday 4 February, Kelly and Tris donned their flippers and got into the freezing cold sea in Colwyn Bay to help raise money for Conwy Mind as part of their first ever Seal Splash campaign. We joined 70 other brave souls, to have a cold water dip.
It was a great event, and it raised over £7,000 for the local charity to support their work with mental health issues.
Nick Beer 10k Race
On Sunday 11 February 2024, Tris Owen joined a group of fellow runners to take part in the Nick Beer 10km memorial race around the Great Orme in Llandudno. Over 650 runners took part this year, another fantastic event undertaken by Always Aim High Events.
Tris managed to do the race in 51 mins! Well done Tris!
