Books about grief and loss for children aged 5-8 years

For Children's Grief Awareness Week 2022, we are highlighting some books to help 5-8 year olds understand grief and loss.

1 child in every UK classroom under the age of 16 has been bereaved of a parent or sibling*. Reading books about death, grief and loss can help children to understand what has happened and their emotions. This selection of books are designed to help them cope during a difficult time.
